With its 34 kilometres of signposted trails, Tiveden Park is the perfect place to go hiking. hiking. There are paths of varying lengths and levels of difficulty to suit all walkers, from the most experienced to beginners.
We particularly enjoyed the 9.5km purple loop, which we completed in 3.5 hours, including a picnic break. However, the visitor centre recommends 4 to 5 hours for less experienced walkers.

For a shorter but equally charming hike, follow the yellow loop of just 2.2 km. You'll also be able to admire superb views of the lake and impressive rock formations.

Tiveden is well worth spending several days in, because the outdoor activities on offer are not limited to hiking.
This magnificent national park offers a wide range of options for making the most of its unspoilt natural landscapes.

For our part, we fell under the spell of the camping Tiveden and we can't recommend it highly enough! Set in a small clearing in the heart of the forest, this campsite boasts an ideal lakeside location and top-quality facilities. A warm and cosy setting guaranteed!
Where to eat in Tiveden Park?
If you want to stock up on shopping during your stay in Tiveden, we recommend stopping off at a supermarket before entering the park.
Although there are a few shops on site, they are small and offer a fairly limited choice.
You can also enjoy gourmet breaks in the restaurants and cafés in the surrounding area. However, most of them are located outside the park, so you'll need a car to get there.
For an original culinary experience, we strongly recommend lunch at the café. Soldathemskonditoriet in Karlsborg, a twenty-minute drive away. Also known as The home of Queen Victoria's soldiers" This establishment is housed in a former building of the historic Karlsborg fortress.
You can enjoy delicious, generous burgers for just a few crowns (other options are of course available).
All in a unique atmosphere, where you can watch the soldiers pass by and have lunch alongside you! A captivating immersion in Swedish military history.
How long can I spend in Sweden's Tiveden National Park?
Based on our experience, we recommend that you allow at least minimum 2 days to take full advantage of the charms of Tiveden Park. You'll have plenty of time to explore the many hiking trails and activities on offer, including cycling, horse-riding and fishing.
Ideally, however, you should stay between 3 and 5 days on site. You'll have plenty of time to explore the surrounding area in greater depth, including the nearby nature reserves and a visit to the historic town of Karlsborg and its iconic fortress.
Finally, don't forget to take the time to recharge your batteries in the heart of this unspoilt natural environment. Take a break to rest, admire the scenery, and why not cool off with an invigorating swim in the clear waters of the lakes on a hot summer's day!
